The podcast

Hardwired: The

Human Algorithm.

A podcast about AI, power, and the humans at the other end of the decision.

Hardwired exists because every boardroom conversation, every family advisory call, and every lecture theatre Lena steps into ends in the same place: the person whose life is being shaped by a decision someone else made about AI. The podcast is where Lena examines those decisions directly, in public, with the people best placed to think about them with her.

Each episode takes one of the questions AI is asking of us, about work, parenting, identity, power, or inheritance and examines what is actually happening underneath, who benefits, and what we lose if we do not see it clearly. Guests are founders, practitioners, researchers, parents, and people who have lived the consequences of AI decisions up close.

Every room I walk into leads back to the same person: the one whose life gets shaped by a decision someone else made about AI.

— Lena Chauhan

If the governance work on the commercial side of this site is about how organisations should make these decisions, Hardwired is about what those decisions actually mean for the people on the receiving end.
