There is no doubt that stress is no friend of your brain. Stress causes the body to release cortisol. Elevated cortisol in the long term can lead to increased blood sugar levels, weight gain, a weak immune system and increase the chance of dementia. It also depletes B vitamins which are essential to brain health.
The good news? Yoga and meditation are terrific ways to rid the body of anxiety, so get yourself on a mat and remember to breathe.
