Here’s Tip #2 in our Ten Top Tips for Preventing Dementia-Related Falls series. People with dementia can have difficulty visually identifying and separating similar colours. They can also have trouble separating an object from its background. This can make steps very tricky, particularly if you have the same carpet on the stairs and the floor/landings. Try colourful risers and/or contrasting colours at the top and bottom of a staircase.
